Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its response. Alachua County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained for the time needed to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent
- Referring website, when supplied
- Date and time of a page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Alachua County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies official custodians, including ACSO Records, the Alachua County Clerk, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Florida Sexual Offender and Predator Public Registry. Government access is governed in part by Florida Public Records Law, Chapter 119, and criminal-history dissemination by section 943.053, Florida Statutes. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a criminal-history profile about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the selected provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its retention, processing, and disclosure practices, so its terms should be reviewed before a query is submitted.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to ACSO, the Clerk, Florida agencies, legal resources, or private services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy practices govern. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- A search provider receiving a submitted query
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving page content
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for collected information. No internet system can guarantee absolute security, however, and the site cannot promise that unauthorized access or loss will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be addressed in accordance with applicable law.
Your Data Rights
Available rights depend on residence and controlling law. Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, sections 501.201 through 501.213, and Florida Information Protection Act, section 501.171, address relevant consumer and data-security duties. Where applicable, a person may:
- Request access to personal information held about that person
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal data
- Ask for deletion where the law provides that right
- Opt out of covered forms of processing
